Project Pinspiration: Summer Styling

While work goes on in the basement, I've been itching to do a little DIY. Do you ever get like that? That you have "do" something with your hands? Only problem is all my craft and paint supplies are in storage or lost somewhere in the house. I have "basement stuff" piled all over the place and can't find a thing. I can't wait to get it all put away and organized in its proper homes.

I did have a chalkboard lying around that I thought could do something with. Inspiration hit me when I went on a Pinterest pinning spree this weekend and was reminded of the gorgeous chalkboard art by Dana Tanamachi:

So lovely. Then I went digging around my Quotables board for a summery saying and came up with this:

I know, I need to work on my chalk penmanship. But it did give me a little boost to give the living room dresser top a summery makeover. I pulled out every summery accessory I could fine...which wasn't much.

The jar of jellybeans may or may not have been fuller when I started this mini makeover ;) I'm ready for summer. Bring it on!
