A Little Bit Country

Aug 29, 2012

I enjoyed reading all your comments about the basement. The look is a bit of a departure for us, a bit more weathered and neutral than the rest of our house so it was fun to hear what you thought of it. Lately, I've been drawn to this more whitewashed worn look. Its a little bit country, a little bit beachy, and a whole lot of cozy.

One of my newest sources of inspiration lately is Country Living magazines. I picked up a few back issues at the library and the latest issue at the grocery store and was surprised at how much I enjoyed them. This wasn't the country decor I was used to - no rooster cookie jars or sunflower art in sight! Poking around the Country Living website, a few images caught my eye. Thought I'd share with you how they got my mind spinning:

I'm not sure if or how any of these ideas will translate into our current renovation, but its fun to find a new source of inspiration!

What are you digging lately?

These are such beautiful inspirations! I love all 3 of these spaces. The mix of mirror shapes makes an interesting decor around the home. Love the layout of this post :)

CL does have lots of great ideas! -- Their website has super stuff. And a primo source for Nautical-Nantuckett-esque look that would look wonderful in your basement.
    I'm envisioning a "Below Decks" theme... ;-D

  7. I just wanted to pop in and say that I thought this post was so pretty! I love the way you did the layout. Usually I would have just skimmed by something like this amongst the 100s of posts I read every day, but your great layout with the description boxes had me reading every word! Thanks for the change up!
