Over the holidays, we hosted my family for our fourth annual Pancakes and Pajamas party, that time of year where we eat breakfast for dinner in our pjs.
It was my favourite P&P yet! You might wonder why I'm posting about it now but I think it's a perfect party theme for this time of year... what could be better than snuggling up indoors, eating warm, hearty food while wearing your pajamas? I think it would be great to celebrate Valentine's Day this way. I know I'd love to be surprised with a spread like this for Valentine's dinner - any excuse to eat chocolatey french toast is a good one :)
I've played with the menu over the years, but I've learned that when it comes to breakfast, our crowd is happiest with simple comfort foods. Baked eggs, Sean's crepes with DIY fillings, filipino sausages and bacon... nothing too fancy, just familiar tried & true foods.

French crepes **side note: just saw this crepe kit which would make a great Valentine's gift
Berry Nutella French Toast Bake (so good!)

I've heard that baking bacon in the oven tastes better so I gave it a try. It tasted delicious and was an easier way to cook a big batch! I'll definitely use this method in the future.
The table decor was simple but just enough to make the meal feel special. Faux bois chargers, greenery, and napkins wrapped in strips of buffalo plaid fabric created a cozy setting. It was a wonderful way to enjoy a meal and spend quiet time with my family amidst the bustle of the holidays.
Do you entertain during the winter months? I need to do more of that.
