HandyMan and I are off to New York City in two weeks for our 1st Anniversary and I can barely contain my excitement. We’re staying with my sister in Brooklyn (ok, maybe not so romantic for an anniversary) and plan on doing a lot of shopping. What are your favourite home décor stores in NYC? Any places you recommend I must must visit?
Im a bit biased but Brooklyn is a fabulous place to spend your anniversary.
In Brooklyn there are some great antique shops on Atlantic Avenue. They seem to be going extinct as the years go by so they may not be here on your next trip.
We also have some fabulous restaurants if you are looking for a romantic night out.
And don't miss the view and the yummy homemade ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

I've got diddly on the home decor in NYC front, but I recognize the bridge!
ReplyDeleteYou may not be aware of this, but we have the prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge here in Covington.

It's just a couple blocks from us.
mrs.l - thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to check those out. I should have remembered to ask you about Brooklyn!
ReplyDeleteAny particular romantic restaurants you'd recommend?
You can't beat the view at River Cafe. Its a very popular & expensive restaurant but Ive only had good experiences there.
ReplyDeleteA little bit less tourist oriented (no view) but usually at the top of best restaurant lists are:
Saul
The Grocery
Al Di La
Convivium Osteria
All of these places require reservations so book ahead if you can.
Thanks for your help mrs.l!
