The Basement: Wallpaper Wants
With the basement reno, we plan to take out some walls and create a bigger open space. When you have a big space, it becomes important to have some focal points to draw your eye. One way to do that is to create an accent wall and we're planning to do that here:
You'll see this wall when you come down the hallway into the main area. Lucky for us, one of my favourite designers Amy Butler (I swooned about her rugs here) is coming out with a line of wallpaper for Graham & Brown. Maybe one of these lovelies will grace our walls and bring some life and whimsy into the space. Aren't they all so fun?

I have been seeing these new wallpaper designs all over the blogging world and I am in love! As for your samples, I am really enjoying the 1st, 2nd and 5th one. I'm a sucker for huge prints!
ReplyDeleteLove the first 3 wallpapers, the colors are fantastic!
ReplyDeletei like the 4th one - had to be different :-)

I'm not a super big fan of accent walls, but I love the wallpaper idea! I'd pick the 1st or 2nd one myself, but I'll look forward to seeing which you choose.

I like the second and last one. Would your hubby be OK with the pink floral?:) In fact, may have to look at the last one for my daughter's room - it's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI vote #2... such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI also like the second one a lot. I wish I had the guts to do wallpaper, but I'm afraid I will get sick of it - and I've already ripped wallpaper out of 7 rooms, never again! ha
ReplyDeleteOf course, wallpaper doesn't look like it used to...

ReplyDeleteI like #2 and #3 myself! An accent wall is always very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI just designed some wedding invites that look a lot like that green/lime green paper. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLove these! My favorite is the top right!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love #2.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm sort of obsessed with that first one. Okay, totally obsessed.

We recently hung wallpaper on one wall in our bedroom -- it's made a huge impact on the space!! It's a great way to not only create a focal point, but to add pattern, colour, and texture to a room.
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to check out the projects you've shared on your blog :-)

I think wallpaper would be a nice touch in the basement. It isn't often used there. Love #1
