Office Update
A while back, writer Christine Cox was doing a story on home offices and through the power of Twitter, she found me. I just remembered I never shared the article with you; you can read it here (our story starts on page 36). Edited to add: the lovely office of fellow blogger Kate at Centsational Girl is also featured on page 30!
Here's some recent photos I took for the article. If you're wondering - no, the office never ever stays this clean!

I absolutely adore the paint colour! Can you let me know what it is? I've been searching for a shade of green that isn't too over the top and this one fits the bill. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room! I love the cabinets.
ReplyDeleteI also love the paint color. It looks very similar to the color I used for my last project in our Engligh Tudor.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your office too! Funny, because I'm about to replace the sofa with much more practical file cabinets . . I'm inspired by your IKEA hack styling!

Like the wall color...that's the color I just painted one of mine guest rooms.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...similar taste. hahaha!
Nice office!
love love! such a gorgeous space:)
ReplyDeleteLovin' the Airplane!
ReplyDeleteOh, and aren't those Old Wooden Chairs great? Even without a cushion pad, they still fit a person's tush just perfectly! I've got an old oak one myself - a $15. yard sale find years ago... They just don't make them like that anymore...
I absolutely love your office! It's so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow amazing, I love the storage shelves!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSarah - the paint is Benjamin Moore's Brookside Moss
ReplyDeleteKate - that's always the battle, isn't it? Function vs style. I love your office too. Its such a pretty space to work in.
Auntie Shan - I do like the chair (though this one is a newer reproduction). Its definitely an improvement on the teal office chair we had in there before!
If our home office looked half as spiffy as yours, we'd be the most productive people on the planet.

I just found your office via SamanthaMuse.com - and I am in love!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know where you got the curtains or fabric for them! The whole room is stunning. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your white rolling "quarter oak" chairs. Where did you buy them? PS- I copied your design (with modifications) for my new home office. Thanks for the jumping off point! I love your blog. Keep up the good work. Beth in Ottawa
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I am about to do an office space and am inspired by yours- can you tell me what model are the filing cabinets? Can't seem to find them. THANKS!
ReplyDeleteHi, I am stalking your site as I recreate your office. Spent the day (and a lot of $$$) at the Ikea Vaughan store. Strangely they are the delivery source for Whitby even thought North York is closer. Anyway, as you know they don't make the lower cabinets anymore so I was looking at options. What is the height of the countertop? I have liked the stacked cabinet look for the bathroom and am just gutting my hodge podge of office furniture and doing 2 workstations, one like yours, one very simple, plus a PAX unit to house all the CRAP. Going to have hubby hack the PAX to incorporate my lateral files. Strange that Ikea doesn't have lateral file cabinets. I sent them a suggestion that they could easily add either separate drawers or a drawer unit with hanging files to extend PAX to the office world. oops, rambling on. Guess that's what I get for lack of sleep. Anyway, if you could send through the desk counter height I would appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! The chairs were from HomeSense. They were stained wood but we painted them white.
ReplyDeleteGreat office - love the ample workspace!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering could you give a bit more explanation as to how you hung the expedit on the wall. What types of brackets and screws did you use? Any more info would be helpful!
ReplyDeleteWe used the MIKAEL drawer units from Ikea, but unfortunately, I just checked the site and it doesn't look like Ikea sells them anymore.
ReplyDeleteYour office is beautiful! What a perfect place to get creative and feel inspired!
ReplyDeleteI really like your office, love how there are so many shelves and drawers to store and organize things. How did you secure the ikea bookshelves? I own them myself and the wood pieces are quite thick and heavy
ReplyDeleteThanks! The fabric is Gunvor Black Oval from Ikea.
