One of a Kind Show Toronto

by - Thursday, November 25, 2010

Such great comments on my last post everyone! I enjoyed reading every one of them and hearing about your views on blogging. Whether we blog for fun or for business or just for ourselves, I think we're all at least becoming more aware of the endless possibilities of blogging.

Speaking of possibilities, because of this blog I was invited to the media breakfast for the One of a Kind Show today, thanks to Susan Tyndall at O Live PR and Shannon at What's Up Whimsy! Let me tell you, that was the BEST breakfast I have had in a very long time. It was prepared by the students of the George Brown College Chef School and featured such delicious fare as Scottish Egg, Cornflake-coated French Toast, and Breakfast Tea Poached Pear. Yum!

So with a full tummy, I headed off to check out the show. If you've never been, the One of a Kind Show is a wonderland of hand-crafted goodness. It is definitely the place to go to find the perfect Christmas gift. I think the show gets better and better every year and this year was definitely the best yet. Here's some of the things that caught my eye:

There was sooooo much great stuff to buy at the show, can't you tell? I think I have to go back and get some of that cappuccino toffee and shortbread cookies I resisted buying. Good thing that the show offers a readmit pass - you pay once, and you can come back again anytime during the duration of the show (Nov 25-Dec 5)!

So what goodies did come home with me? As usual, I came home with things for the kiddo and nothing for me. I can't help it; stuff for her is way too cute to resist! She got adorable kimono pjs from Redfish Kids Clothing (don't tell her, she'll get them for Christmas!) and these sweet sweet things too...

Red Riding Hood cape from Patouche; Woodland bookends from Gosia Gosia

Chloe was over-the-moon happy to have a cape that matched her favorite pajamas :) Do make a trip to the show if you can. There's something there for everyone on your list!

I've been wanting to see that SHOW! But, alas, I'm in Ottawa! We get SIGNATURES and ORIGINALS here, but I hear OOAK in much more unique...

  2. I was thinking of not going this year...but then I realized the two things I picked up last year are my FAVOURITE things from this past year. And because I got a free ticket:) That cape on Chloe is super duper cute and I only wish my Charlotte was young enough for one. I have been staring at that cape all year because it's been on my inspiration board since last year's OOAK!
Your business cards are fab by the way!

  9. I wish I were there!! Some fellow Winnipeg crafters showed their stuff and I know how amazing they are. I'm sure there was eye candy as far as the eye could see.

  11. You got the bookends! So jealous! Sadly, not much out there for boys. If Oscar was a girl, I would have gone broke 5.5 months ago. ;) LOVE the cape.

  18. Wow. Every time I see a craft fair posting, whether it be one like that that I've never heard about, or one of the Renegade Handmade events, I am so sad we don't have anything like them here in Colorado. At least not that I know of. Looked like there were so many great things!
