Trending: Smoked Glassware

I'm a 1970's baby so when I see old trends come back in vogue, I'm secretly thrilled. One trend that I'm seeing and loving these days is the return of smoked glassware.

Smoked Glass For Home

Just seeing these smokey hues brings me back to my parents hosting parties in our wood-panelled basement, the Bee Gees playing in the background, my uncle's cigarette smoke hanging in the air. My family were never big drinkers but any drink served up in a smokey glass felt instantly more chic.

The most popular shade was smoke grey but today, you can find smoked glassware in shades of green, brown, and amber. I am particularly in love with the drinking glasses from Our Place (makers of the awesome Always Pan). I gifted my brother a set of the glasses in Dusk for Christmas and it took all my might not to keep them for myself. Their rounded shape felt so good in your hand and I liked that they were stackable.

Dinner parties at home aren't happening anytime soon, but that doesn't mean you can't infuse a bit of style to your table scape. Smoked glassware feels classic and sophisticated and it bring colour to your place setting. Imagine any one of these glasses set with white dishes on a white tablecloth.

It hasn't been scientifically proven, but I'm sure a glass like these will make your drink taste better too. Try one of these vessels to give cocktail hour a refresh.
